What is Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964?
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on race, color and national origin. Additionally, other protected individuals and groups will also be subject to service in a non-discriminatory manner.
In its efforts to provide transportation and delivery of benefits to all persons in a non-discriminatory way, it encourages individuals of all race, color, national origins [sex, creed, age or economic status] who believe that they have been discriminated against to immediately report the incident to the Watertown Area Transit, Inc. Administration Staff.
How to file a Title VI Complaint
A written and signed complaint and a factual form must be submitted to the Administration Staff within 30 days of the alleged discrimination complaint in order to move forward with the complaint. If it is not filed, the complaint is considered closed.
