Community Transit of Watertown/Sisseton, Inc. is committed to offering transportation services in an equitable, accessible and affordable manner to all individuals regardless of race, sex or national origin including all special groups. Public Transportation offers mobility and independent living to the residents of the community.

Office Hours – Watertown

Monday  through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

 

Bus Operation Hours – Watertown

Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Saturday 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Sunday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (phone calls only)

Starting Saturday, Februrary 1, 2020, Watertown riders wishing to travel to and from the Watertown Walmart store and other businesses in the same vicinity for shopping, on Saturdays only will be operating on a scheduled route. This does not apply to employement.

Trips to Walmart will need to be booked at the following times:

  • 8:00 am
  • 10:00 am
  • 12:30 pm
  • 2:00 pm

Riders returning home from Walmart will need to schedule their pickup at the following times:

  • 10:15 am
  • 12:45 pm
  • 2:15 pm
  • 3:30 pm

Codington, Deuel, Hamlin & Clark counties: All trips must be scheduled a day in advance by 3:00 p.m. by calling the main office at (605) 882-5287. Rides for Monday must be scheduled by 3:00 pm on Friday. Out of town trips must be scheduled one week in advance and are subject to available resources.

For all other locations (not Codington, Hamlin, or Clark county), scheduling rides should be made one day in advance, however, same day service can be done if there are resources available.

Buses run regardless of weather, unless the Department of Highway Safety alerts a “No Travel Advised” or dangerous summer weather is imminent.

A one-way fare cost, depending on the service area traveled, must be dropped into the fare box upon entry into the bus. Money or a token exchange must occur every time that the rider boards the bus by dropping the money or token into the fare box for the trip.

Community Transit of Watertown/Sisseton, Inc. offers rides for various events such as employment, medical, education, nutrition, recreation and shopping. Rides are available to all persons; very young youth must be accompanied by a guardian.

Our software system can handle recurring appointments: if you have a trip every Tuesday, we can set that up. Or every weekday, or 3 days a week. And if you need to do a recurring schedule and something changes for a day, just call and let us know and we can make the adjustment.

Last call for “will-calls” is 15 minutes prior to the end of bus runs (3:45 pm on Saturday and 5:45 pm Monday through Friday).

Most buses are wheelchair accessible. Community Transit of Watertown/Sisseton, Inc. is a Medicaid provider.
